New Chef, New Food, New $7.50 Lunch @ 750ml

 

Portland, OR -750ml's food attitude gets a fresh fall makeover, thanks to new chef John Giannini. Meanwhile, owner Rena Vatch's smartly eclectic, "user-friendly" wine selection again rises to the culinary challenge to complement Giannini's palate pleasers. That's a good thing, what with Giannini's rich food and wine experiences in the Napa Valley.

 

Giannini promises food prepared with passion and respect. Firmly rooted in Franco-Italian traditions -- simple, quality ingredients, expertly assembled -- Giannini draws from a broad, but focused background.  His food and wine pairing abilities echo from his years as Chef de Cuisine at Jordan Vineyard & Winery (Healdsburg, CA). Northern Italian and Southern French concepts are translated through time spent as Sous Chef at Terra (St. Helena, CA). Together they inspire his new menu selections at 750ml -- a place for celebration, good conversation, conviviality and friendship.

 

Giannini looks to a bounty of fresh, flavorful Northwest ingredients and 750ml's savvy wine selections as the perfect match. He credits Udo Nechutnys, Jordan's Executive Chef and Paul Bocuse protégé, as inspiration in seasoning his wine instincts to complement his kitchen. At Terra, Giannini factors owner Hiro Sone's innovative palate. A 2003 James Beard "Best California Chef", Sone influences Giannini's 750ml food adventures.

 

Additionally, 750ml's lunch trade gets a new twist with $7.50 Lunch @ 750ml -- a tantalizing list of sandwiches, panini, salads and a Chef’s Special of the Day -- all priced at $7.50. 750ml's signature truffle-scented, hand-cut Pommes Frites remain -- crisped to perfection and seduced by satiny roasted garlic aioli. To make things easier for the weekday business crowd, $7.50 Lunch  @ 750ml is quick in service and affordability. 750ml will be offering delivery throughout the Brewery Blocks area for business individuals who cannot get out of the office or for the meeting that continues into lunchtime!

 

Located at 232 NW 12th Avenue in The Pearl, 750ml also purveys premium wines at reasonable prices. Lunch, served at 11:30am Monday through Saturday. 750ml is open until 11pm Monday-Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday.
