| Portland, Or - In the heart of the Pearl stands a wine shop and bar whose face will stay the same while its interior takes on a new dimension. Amongst the bottles of Pinot Gris and Syrah emerges a world of small plates, cheese courses and a wine list that includes 40 wines by the glass or by the sip. Re-opening September 4th, 2002 after a brief closure, 750ml becomes a food and wine destination. Menu items will be paired with wine tasting selections to create perfect marriages of small delights. An ala Carte menu will also be offered but the true beauty will be in the menus ability to take the guesswork out of pairing your favorite dish with a fabulous vino. In addition to the menu offers a generous vegetarian fare and a cheese program that will distinguish 750’s menu from others. | ||
| Josh Shartzer, formerly of Paley’s Place will be responsible for the delectable cuisine, while ever-present wine expert Rena Vatch will continue to handle the wine buys and pairings. Not to be diminished or overshadowed, the retail arm of 750ml will remain the focal point with a wine cellar atmosphere for bottles that span the globe in origin. | ||
| Amato Johnson, the design duo responsible for the homes of several NBA players as well as other high-end restaurants, executed design elements for the new bistro. Lacking the pretentious air and stuffy quality that many wine shops possess, 750ml has built a reputation as a warm and inviting hot spot. The wines are categorized by their attitude, which makes it easy to pick one to fit yours. Bodacious? Sassy? Graceful? The categorization and ambience will remain consistent when the Bistro debuts, as will many of the staff. | ||
| Located at 232 NW 12th in Portland, 750ml-a food and wine destination will have new hours as well. With atmosphere being as important as ever, wine tastings and DJ appearances will continue. New hours will be Monday through Thursday 11:30-11:00 Friday and Saturday 11:30-1:00.
